What year did you start DJing?
In 1984 – which ironically is also a dystopian novel by George Orwell about Oceania, a society ruled by an oligarchical dictatorship.
Favourite music genre?
As Elvis once said “I don't know anything about music, In my line of work you don't have to”
Most treasured LP/album?
Possibily Fred Burton’s – Honky Tonk Percussion. It’s a rare gem.
Favourite artist/band/singer?
I would say that I like most people, I wake to the sound of an accordion most morning’s - so currently Tony Lovello takes some beating esp his ‘Full Of Polka’ era.
Name your favourite club or club night, past or present.
I won’t bore you with tales of Cracker’s, Lacy, Goldmine, Wigan Casino and alike. All I will say is that Keb Darge’s Deep Funk nights are a must for anyone that has a pulse (or anyone that hasn’t for that matter).
Who was/is your inspiration as a DJ?
It’s a rare ability as a dj to ’feel’ a crowd. Top tip: Ladies and Gentlemen - look up and not down – the decks are not moving the dance-floor is!!!. Those that do, inspire me. Froggy, Spen, Mr Scruff - take a bow.

I’d invite Keith Moon, Grace Jones, Ike Turner, Bjork, Cliff Richard, Froggy and start the coversation with something like…. “Religion - Discuss”
How many records do you have in your collection?
I’ve bought/sold/bought/sold ’em so many times to fund my penchant for loud shirts. The Collection currently in the thousands, but I’m looking to sell again if you’re interested… the records that is – not the shirts…
Best live concert or performance you’ve seen?
The Specials at the Royal Albert Hall last year. Phenomenal
